Ocean Enterprises Foundation EOD
The Ocean Enterprises Foundations was established in 2013 by Werner and Myra Kurn. Because of their love of Scuba Diving and many years of successfully serving San Diegans, the Kurns wanted to give back.
Werner and Myra created the Ocean Enterprises Foundations to ensure that no person will be precluded from participating in scuba diving due to physical or financial hardship.
The Ocean Enterprises Foundation is currently working with wounded veterans teaching them how to scuba dive and aiding them with their transition back to regular life at home. "This is a very new and rewarding experience. I had to learn to overcome some of my anxieties, and work as a team trusting other people", as said by Seth Brandon, a disabled combat soldier who got involved with the Ocean Enterprises Foundation through the Aspire Center.
Ocean Enterprises provides consistent, quality training and service to disabled divers. Our team is trained in all aspects of service for a multitude of disabilities PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), paraplegia, quadriplegia, and loss of hearing or vision. In 2007 we had our first instructors certified through the Handicapped Scuba Association (HSA), and to date have 10 qualified instructors available to teach this program.
